- The use of the guitar head album logo indicates that the album contains music which is composed using a guitar and is also one of the familiar indications that it is a rock album.
- The use of the simplistic design of the front cover also shows indication that the album is a rock album, this is because with most common album covers such as Linkin Park's "Minutes to Midnight" album, they choose to just make a simple design and layout, making the cover a lot more spacious. This is due to the fact that because they are so well-known, they are already recognised by just their name and font, which means they don't need to try hard putting on more designs to try and attract the audience and that's what I demonstrated in my front cover.

Inside cover
- The use of the black & white monochrome look on the inside cover also makes the album look gothic and dark, which is conventional for punk rock music covers to have.
- The use of the image of Jay Z and the band also made it very convincing that Jay Z was in a band and also along with the image of the guitar and thunder album logo in the top corner of the inside cover reinforces that idea. The audience would then assume that he is in a rock band with all those images working together.
Back cover
The use of the picture of the electric guitar in the background of song list indicates that this album would feature a guitar in the songs. Also the convention of common rock albums featuring pictures of their instruments also reinforces the idea of the album being involve in the rock genre.
Left "Lyrics" cover
The use of the image of the band guitarist in the background gives off the fact that the album is a rock album. This is conventional to modern rock music album covers as some may have photos of the band in action and on stage live, therefore giving off a first impression of it being a rock-related album.
